  • BECOME A FOSTER

Foster

Fostering a pet is a rewarding experience that lets you show an animal how much you care, while preparing your guest for a forever home.

With the love and care of devoted foster parents, these wonderful pets are given a second chance for life.

We have a variety of foster opportunities from adult dogs, cats, kittens, puppies, and even small animals! With so many options, most families are able to integrate foster animals into their homes.

Fostering Duties

  • Talk to your Foster Coordinator to discuss what foster animals are the best fit for your family
  • Offer a lifeline for underage, sick, injured, or those animals who need some extra love before adoption
  • Provide a temporary home for the pet in need while providing daily care, affection, and socialization
  • Transport foster pets for vet care, check ups, and adoption meet and greets
  • Bring pets to adoption events (usually on the weekends)

What We Provide

  • We provide all supplies and veterinary care for your foster pet. There is no cost for you to foster!
  • Our team has extensive medical and behavioral experience. We are here for you every step of the way.
  • Initial and continued training for more advanced fostering opportunities

Email our Foster Coordinator at foster@chesapeakehumane.org for more information or submit a Foster Application to get started!
